To Be “In Flow”

 

Take a moment to picture a waterfall, a river, a stream and what do you notice?

The water is in flow. It never stays in the same place and it never goes back on itself. It’s always in a “now” or present state or just being where it is at that millisecond before it moves on to its next now or present state. It’s never in the past or in the future but constantly flowing in the present moment.

What if we could take time in a present moment? Not looking back and not looking forward but just being in flow of where we are…moment to moment to moment. Try it. It’s not all that easy as our mind will always want to fill in the gaps where we are trying to be in our present moment.

The waterfall doesn’t worry that it’s going over the edge to cascade down, the river doesn’t worry that it can’t see ahead to the next bend, the stream doesn’t know what size pebbles or rocks it’ll be flowing over. The water is in constant flow.

5D or 5th dimensional energy is exactly like this; being in the flow of energy and trusting that everything is happening for your highest good and the Universe always holds a plan for you. We can’t see the bigger picture of this plan just like the water leading up to flowing over the edge can’t see what’s over the edge, it just flows over.

So how can we be in flow within our lives?

Take some time to mirror the waterfall, the river, the stream. Why not choose a day in your week where you just flow with your day; no plans, no timekeeping, no “have to’s”, “shoulds”. Just doing as you please throughout your day with no fear, no guilt, no tension. If you want to read a book then do so, listen to some music and dance then go ahead, bake, relax in the garden if you have one, have a walk in the park if you don’t. Anything you want to do just flow into it and go with it.

An idea could be that you get a pen and paper (no iPads or phones), place your pen on the paper and just allow your pen to flow across the page in which ever way it wants to. Try and remove your conscious thought and allow the pen to do what it wants. What did that feel like? Did you try and control the flow or were you able to allow the pen to glide?

Perhaps spend some time journaling after that period and note down how you felt.

  • How did you feel?
  • Did you feel your mind trying to curb you into scheduling or guilt-trip you into the “ought to be doing”?
  • Did you feel freer?
  • Was it a challenge?
  • Did you have moments when it felt easy and others when it didn’t? Can you draw your flow feeling? What colours does it have?
